The St. Nicholas Leadership Club of Singapore was founded with the key responsibility of catering networking and professional advice regarding the conformance of the S. Asia Maritime Action Project to the needs of the shipping sector.
In a rapidly changing business ecosystem, Maritime Action is expected to amplify its responsiveness to contemporary challenges. This Club consists of distinguished individuals and leading professionals, widely acknowledged for their critical input to the Singapore as well as the global shipping scene. Their precious experience, knowledge and dedication undoubtedly leads to the amelioration and further advancement of the S.E. Asia Maritime Action Project.
Head of the St.Nicholas Leadership Club of Singapore is Dr. Dionysia-Theodora Avgerinopoulou. Dr. Avgerinopoulou serves as the Vice-Chair of the Steering Committee of the Global Water Partnership Organization (GWPO) in Stockholm, Sweden, and as the Head of Water of the Energy and Environment Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Paris, France. She has also served as the Chairperson of the Standing Committee for the UN Affairs of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), in Geneva, Switzerland, the Chairperson of the Circle of the Mediterranean Parliamentarians on Sustainable Development (COMPSUD), the Vice-Chair for the Mediterranean Commission for Sustainable Development (MCSD), and a Member of the Hellenic Parliament and Chair of the Environment Committee of the Hellenic Parliament, in Athens, Greece. Dr.Avgerinopoulou received a first degree in Law from the Faculty of Law of the National and Kapodestrian University of Athens, Greece, and an LL.M. in International Legal Studies from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C. She also holds a Doctorate in International Environmental Law (J.S.D.) from Columbia University School of Law.
